The ‘Rix Lion’ has excellent sea keeping ability. It was built by world class Damen shipyards group and features their successful 'Twin Axe' design.

  • Powered by twin Caterpillar C32 TTA B 2,400 bhp diesel engines, coupled to Reintjes ZVWS 440/1Gearboxes and driving twin 5 blade propellers the Rix Lion offshore vessel achieves a sprint speed of 27 knots and has demonstrated excellent sea keeping characteristics thanks to Damens successful Twin Axe design. This proven design allows the Rix Lion to maintain greater speeds in higher sea states, and provides a stable platform for safe access and transfer to offshore assets. 

    The vessel has a two-tier wheelhouse with a large cargo area capable of holding 2x 20ft containers. She symbolises the state-of-the-art in current wind farm service vessel design with exceptional attention to detail benefitting from Damens long experience in the shipping and offshore vessel sector.
